Vacation Time

Vacation time off with pay is available to eligible employees to provide opportunities for rest, relaxation, and personal pursuits. Employees in the following employment classification(s) are eligible to earn and use vacation time:

The Vacation Chart below lists vacation accrual rates per calendar year for "Full-Time Regular" employees. This chart applies to all organizations:  Ave Maria Communications, Ave Maria Fine Art Gallery, Domino's Farms Corporation, Domino's Farms Petting Farm, Legatus, The Ave Maria Foundation, and Thomas More Law Center.

VACATION POLICY FOR REGULAR FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES HIRED ON OR AFTER JANUARY 1, 2016

Please note that the Vacation Policy changed  in 2016 for all employees hired on or after January 1, 2016. Accrual rates remain the same, however, the total amount of vacation accrual hours that carryover to the next calendar year is limited to 40 hours. VACATION POLICY FOR REGULAR FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES HIRED PRIOR TO 2016

If you hired in on or before December 31, 2015,  your Vacation Policy remains the same.  Accrued vacation hours carrying over to the next calendar year is limited to 240 hours. Please note that once you have accrued 240 hours, further accrual will end until the vacation hours accrued falls below the 240 hours threshold. VACATION POLICY FOR REGULAR PART-TIME EMPLOYEES

"Regular Part-Time" employees  who work 1,040 hours of continuous service in a calendar year, will receive 40 hours paid vacation to be used in the next calendar year. Each calendar year thereafter, as long as you continue to work 1,040 hours of continuous service, you will receive 40 hours of vacation time to be used the following year. Maximum vacation time for Regular Part-Time employees is 40 hours per calendar year. These vacation hours, if not used in the calendar year the hours were awarded, do not carry over to the next calendar year.
